G'day folks

Government agency in Canberra looking for a Perl programmer with a  
scientific background. Desired traits:
- Good Perl programming skills. Don't need to be an expert. Knowledge of  
modern Perl well regarded.
- Experience working in a team environment using an Agile methodology.
- Appreciation of and commitment to good software engineering.
- Self-discipline, resourceful, organized

The following scientific skills and knowledge would also be highly regarded:
- time series and frequency domain analysis
- performing mathematical inversions
- signal processing

The successful candidate will be expected to converse closely with  
scientists during the implementation of scientific software specifications.
