[Forwarding this request that appeared on another Austin list. The
Perl part, of course, isn't off-topic on THIS list, the Austin Perl
Mongers' list. I don't know anything about the person or the project
beside what's here. -- TMcD]

Graphics developer (volunteer) wanted
***PERL***
I'm looking for a Perl developer to help with an open-source project:
M-YRCMon IRC monitor (connections/nick changes/etc), and stats system. (Will
output to a file and to IRC)... and whatever other stuff we feel like
putting in.
Currently, 1.0 is under development (by me only).
Currently done:
-Basic socket creation (via standard module IO::Socket)
-Config file parser (via non-standard module XML::Simple)
-Basic link introduction for UnrealIRCd (yes, it acts as a server -- since
every server has a different "Client connecting" syntax for clients, it'll
probably be just as easy (or easier, since we don't have to run every IRCd
to find the syntax or ask people, and server<->server protocol is generally
better documented)).
-All the planning (for 1.0, at least).
What I need help with:
-Config parser WITHOUT any non-standard modules, or, preferably, without ANY
modules. The config file uses XML. Nothing fancy.
-Message (command) parsing. I have this partially done, but it will take a
while to get all the commands in.
-Ideas for other commands.
-Probably more.
You can contact me via this email, or msn messenger (
dimecadmium at cibilian.org is my msn, also).
***HTML/Graphics***
There is a base site at http://m-yrcmon.sourceforge.net/ -- but I would like
to coordinate a better site with someone who isn't me ;).
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help. As I said in the subject, no
reward will be given (unless we *somehow* gather enough donations).
