Hi Todd, There is a Whole Foods Market, A PF Chang (Chinese Food), a French restaurant and more. You can walk there. Glades Road which separates FAU from the plaza is a busy road but it is one of the safest places in the state. To be honest, the distances are so big you can't go very far without a car.
