(Public) transportation to Amusement parks and Kennedy Space Center

One other detail I didn't mention is that the drive from the DoubleTree down to Disney or Universal is between 30-60 minutes depending on traffic in a private car.  I can only imagine a bus ride and transfers between routes would extend that into 90-120 minutes each way.   If you're going for a day or whatever, Uber or a cab might be a better way to go and perhaps? cheaper than a car rental + parking fees

A car rental is going to be your best bet.
There **are** public transit buses that go to and from all the parks but with respect to Disney specifically, there are so many different entrances/exits and parks (Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Adventure, Animal Park, Epcot, etc, etc) that the buses tend to follow a single corridor and don't visit all the properties.
Disney runs shuttle buses between parks but you pretty much have to be a guest at one of the property hotels to use them.
KSC is about an hour's drive on the tollroad that connects Orlando to Cocoa Beach. As far as I'm aware, there's no direct transit options from Orlando to KSC.

 Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could point me to some information on
the ways to get from the YAPC venue at DoubleTree to the big amusements
parks in Orlando (Disney World, Universal Studios, Seaworld) and to the Kennedy Space Center.

Is there any option for public transportation or shuttles from the hotel or is the only option renting a car?

regards
