To clarify that a bit:

If you are coming from O'Hare on the Blue Line, and want to transfer (at 
Clark & Lake) to the southbound Green Line to get to IIT, turn right 
(south) at the top of the first escalator, and go up through the 
Thompson State of Illinois Center. But don't worry if you botch that. 
There's also a bridge at that 'L' station between the two platforms.
