Actually, MacBook carries a proprietary connector.  I have one of those, 
and can bring it.  The iBook requires a different proprietary connector, 
which I do *not* have.

MB Pro does DVI, and any DVI-VGA converter will work (available at Radio 
Shack).  Heck, the projector might even have a DVI cable.
