Senior Systems Analyst/Developer

*Department:* Web Services & Systems Development
*Location:* Philadelphia

*Duties:*

Responsible for the analysis, technical design and web systems development
related to ongoing production and development of web infrastructure for a
large portfolio of web applications and properties.

   - Strong application architecture design skills as well as front-end
   design sense. Ability to see the big picture and possesses a methodical
   attention to detail. Excellent time management, organizational, and
   inter-personal skills to work with a variety of people and departments
   under tight deadlines. Ability to work as team member and independently
   with minimal supervision. Proficient with all phases of project analysis
   including: business rules, technical feasibility, and functional
   specifications. Works with Digital Products and Services management to
   ensure quality and accuracy of projects.
   - Strongly skilled in Perl (functional and OO), XHTML, and JavaScript.
   Competency in Ruby and experience and/or knowledge of Test Driven
   Development is preferred. Must have advanced knowledge of web systems, the
   ability to rapidly pick up new technologies, and critical thinking skills
   to identify areas where Digital Products and Services can improve.

*Requirements:*

   - Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred or equivalent work
   experience required
   - Demonstrated knowledge of and facility with:
      - Common computer languages, tools, and internet protocols such as:
      XHTML, XML, HTTP, FTP, SSH, MIME, Perl, CGI, JavaScript, Unix shell
      scripting
      - Operating systems: Linux, Solaris, Windows, Macintosh,
   - Demonstrated ability to create and maintain tools to be used by
   non-technical staff by writing clean, manageable code in functional and
   high-level languages

*Client-side Skills*

   - XHTML / CSS standards-based development
   - JavaScript / DHTML / Ajax
   - XML / XSLT
   - Experience with a browser-based testing framework (i.e. Selenium,
   Cucumber, Webrat) is a plus

*Server-Side Skills*

   - Perl (functional and OO), FastCGI, mod_perl, Ruby
   - .NET, C#, ASP.NET, ASP/VBScript, Web Services, and WSDL are all a plus
   - MySql, Berkeley DB, SQL Server, , SQL, stored procedures
   - Demonstrated knowledge of the SDLC. Experience with Agile
   methodologies, a source control tool

*Content Management System*

   - Knowledge of concepts and capabilities as well as experience in
   development preferred
