[Pdx-pm] Building DBD::mysql on Mac OS X

I did a CPAN install DBD::mysql, and the install aborted because of  
multiple test failures.  I'd appreciate advise from anyone who has  
successfully installed this on a Mac OS X system.  (My version is  
10.4.9)
