Some are the times to ask why.

Some are the times it is better to ask why not.

The effort is low.  The price of failure is low.  If it succeeds the returns
will be high.  This is a time not to ask why, but why not.  I don't see any
real reason why not [1], so I went ahead and created it.  It is done.

Perl 5 needs a place to collect communal information, that much is obvious to
anyone.  Here it is.  If this doesn't work we'll try something else.  And
something after that.  And again after that.

Every moment spent writing about why the wiki should not work is a moment
which could have been spent editing the wiki and helping it succeed.  Or
editing some other wiki and helping it succeed.


[1] The "it'll distract from similar projects" argument is generally
speculative and depressive to motivation.  Its a fine excuse to do nothing.
If all those other wikis are going so strong then this new one is no threat
and it will die a just and quiet death.
