Mongers,

Can anyone shed some light on what BNF actually is?  It seems that 
there's no such thing as a standard BNF notation, and if there is, this 
isn't it:

  http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/paths.html#PathDataBNF

I found Parse::EBNF, which implies that the w3c has their own idea about 
what bnf is, but it appears that the SVG committee didn't get that 
memo.
