1. Many thanks for your help and ideas about how to get started on my
project yesterday.  I feel like this is actually something I can accomplish
now if I take it in small pieces.

Check it out, it's a fun game.  The thing is, it may not be best suited for
perl because it involves capturing drawings.  I planned to do it with flash
and php back a couple years ago when I put that site online.  I don't know
if perl could do something like that (maybe in conjunction with imagemagik
or something?).  Anyway, it's an idea I thought I'd throw out there.
