Over here we couldn't care less. :-) We have one PhD, but the rest of us are ranging from 12 years of primary education (if that) to maybe a degree in economics or art.
(Actually, I think some of the recent hires have engineering degrees, but considering I'm not really sure it didn't exactly weigh heavily).
Open source contributions or other proof of "can get good stuff done" on the other hand ...
