I have the following OO Perl/Linux Administration contract (100%
telecommute) position available.
Do you have experience with both OO Perl for high volume/high performance
web sites AND some Linux Administration?

OO Perl Developer
Location: anywhere in U.S. (100% telecommuting)
Rate: $40-50/hr (DOE) 1099 or Corp to Corp
A new start up is looking for an OO Perl contractor that can also support
some Linux servers. The company is in the business of credit card
transaction processing, is fully funded and has a development staff of 5-6.
The architecture and data model designs are complete and the initial OO Perl
Development begun. The OO Perl developer will be responsible for the new
development of a high volume credit card processing system from the ground
up expected to handle 10K transactions/day. The OO Perl is currently
developed and deployed on Debian Linux with MySQL (InnoDB) on the backend.
The position also involves 24/7 Operations support of Linux servers.
The position will approximately consist of 75% Perl Development and 25%
Linux Administration
This position is almost 100% telecommuting as once every 3-4 months the
company will pay all expenses for meetings in Las Vegas.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST have 2+ yrs of OO Perl development on Linux for high volume
applications and/or systems
MUST have solid database skills (preferable MySQL) including the ability to
design relational databases, interface OO Perl code with databases and SQL
optimization of queries. Oracle is acceptable.
MUST have some Linux System Administration experience
Since this is a 100% telecommuting position, good over the phone
communication skills mandatory.
Plus:
MySQL InnoDB mode OR MySQL (any mode) AND either Oracle, Postgres, or
Informix
Familiar with using ORM (Object Relational Mapping)
Experinence using Subversion for Configuration Management
Experience with Rose-DB-Object
Any DBA skills is a plus but not necessary
