Web Developer

*The Position:*

Our Emerging Technology team is looking for a highly motivated mid-level Web
Designer/Developer to build and maintain our corporate website and B2C hotel
reservation application and customize the look and feel to seamlessly
integrate with various hotel websites.



The successful candidate will be a technically proficient, creative,
self-starter with excellent communications skills.  We believe in a fun but

*Responsibilities:***

The Web Developer will be responsible for UI and front-end development,
applying their expertise in HTML/CSS/JavaScript to a suite of industry
leading messaging products.   The Web Developer must possess technical
knowledge and creative skills across a range of technologies including:

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX

• Extensive experience with cross-browser/mobile development and testing

• Develop optimized/cross-platform front-end code in HTML, CSS and
JavaScript

• Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate interactive concepts

• Implement cross-browser/cross-platform UI compatibility and troubleshoot
associated issues

*Qualifications:***

• 3+ years experience building interactive email/web sites/applications

• Technical mastery of client-side web user interface development
technologies including JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS

• Page tracking, conversion tracking experience (Google/Yahoo Analytics,
Omniture)

• Experience using graphics software (Photoshop, Fireworks, or similar)

• Knowledge of cross-browser/cross-platform/mobile compatibility including
knowledge of and ability to solve common associated issues as well as
investigate and troubleshoot complex inconsistencies

• Experience using JavaScript and AJAX libraries such as jQuery

• Experience with version control systems including Subversion

• General UI background (Information architecture, site flow, accessibility,
browser capabilities, etc)

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills.

• Good written and oral communication skills and ability to work either
independently or within a team environment



*Desirable Skills/Knowledge:***

• Experience with fast UI prototyping, rapid iterations, Agile web
development methodologies

• Knowledge of server-side scripting languages such as PERL/PHP

• Experience working in a LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySql/PERL) environment

• Knowledge of Smarty, Template Toolkit

• Experience with social media sites

• Hospitality experience is a plus.

*The Position*

This position requires a computer programmer to work with web designers to
determine the technical and functional requirements of projects.  The
candidate will create internal and external reports regarding transaction
and booking volumes, develop internal user and customer facing reports and
graphs that convey transaction volumes, history, booking information, and
property content.  The computer programmer will enhance existing software to
display charts and make various data export options (i.e. PDF,CSV,Word)
available.



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The ideal candidate for this position will
possess a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering, and
have familiarity with hotel reservation systems and associated distribution
channels such as Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia and Priceline.   Technical
requirements include programming with PERL software language, HTML, CSS,
AJAX, Linux, and accessing a MySQL database.

to enter and control all the information about the hotel including
descriptive (HOD), rates and availability. The programming languages Perl /
mod_perl, JavaScript, PHP, Java, and comfortable with database systems
