[Chicago-talk] How reliable is UDP.

Good Morning,

I am in the process of writing a short program in
which a server sends small amounts of info to local
clients (on a LAN). I do not need the bi-directional
communication offered by TCP, however, I would like
the communication to be reliable. I have read that
UDP is unreliable. Can anyone tell me quantitatively
how unrealiable UDP is? How many transmission can I
expect to fail 1 out of 100, 1000, etc?

Thank you for your attention,

Richard
