I thought it would be a perl thing but actually it is a webserver thing.

Kinda learning this as I go.
IIS and other MS based webservers already capture the logon credentials you
supply to your localwork station.

there is a mod for apache called mod_ntlm that also does this for apache
based servers. Then its just a matter of pulling it from the %ENV variable
when that webpage is accessed.
