Opa... não usa não Galvão, vide perldoc perlop:

"Note that tr does not do regular expression character
classes such as \d or [:lower:]. The <tr> operator is
not equivalent to the tr(1) utility. If you want to
map strings between lower/upper cases, see lc in the
perlfunc manpage and uc in the perlfunc manpage, and
in general consider using the s operator if you need
regular expressions."

Nunca passei por isso, mas vou chutar que tem algo a
ver com LOCALE. Tente "use locale" ou "use utf8". Na
dúvida, consulte perldoc perllocale.
