If you have a copy of The Perl Cookbook, you might want to try either
recipe 7.5 (Creating Temporary Files) or recipe 16.4 (Reading or Writing
to Another Program). They're on pages 232-234 and 559-561, respectively.
There might be other recipes in those chapters that might be helpful.
If you don't have a copy, well, now you can just go to the bookstore, find
a copy there, and look it up.
