Because it managed to be impressively condescending without raising a single
smile from me, and editor wars are normally at least marginally entertaining.

Of course, we all knew Brian was going senile when he wrote a blog post
about using *formats* as part of modern perl, but it's sad to see he's
lost his sense of humour as well as his hair now ...
