Well, I was thinking more along the lines of Bath.pm's example. They have a
neat 'Show me where all the PM user groups are' thingy. I think that
southampton.pm.org's website ought to kick off Perl code everytime it's
accessed ( whether that's a new process or mod_perl ).

Current objectives:-

1. Promote the use of Perl in the region.
    - Convincing businesses to use it
    - Leading by example, Sotonians, etc.
2. Form a community to allow Perl programmers to exchange ideas.
    - Web-based bulletin boards
    - informal meetings
3. Aid newbie Perl programmers in getting better.
    - Q+A mailing list
4. Think of interesting things to do in Perl.
    - Decent projects
    - Unexpected uses thereof ( like Wayne's SDL stuff )
5. Umm.. implement number 4.
    - Yeah, sort of obvious, but it doesn't always happen
6. Evangelise the language to anyone who'll listen.
    - If you don't already...
7. Debunk some of the crap that's spun by VB/MS boys about our language.
    - I think we've all heard some of this...
8. Make a show at some of the YAPC events.
