I have some good news, some bad news, and some more good news. First
the good news -- I successfully defended my thesis last Tuesday! The
"bad news" is that graduation is Friday, so I have to miss my first
YAPC since 2003.

If anyone else is still in town this week and is looking for something
language-related to do, my friend Dave Richardson (another Drexel CS
PhD) is starting up a new C++ meetup. The first meeting is Wednesday
night at Drexel. Dave will be talking about memory management.
Details are at

http://www.meetup.com/phillycxx/events/64817872/

Dave did his dissertation on some clever ways to use template
metaprogramming to find memory leaks and double-deletes at compile
time, so this should be a great talk. He's also promising to include
a few new C++11 things as well.
