[Pdx-pm] red hat enterprise "perl" bug

If you happen to be using whatever redhat is calling "perl" lately and 
haven't seen this yet...

I think Ask said it well:  "What is/was RedHat trying to fix with 
whatever patch to Perl 5.8.8 that introduced this problem?"

This was open for almost 9 months?  Am I missing something?  Everyone 
running rhel/centos just builds their own Perl, or all of the servers 
are debian?  (BSD?)

It might be something you wouldn't notice in day-to-day usage, but a 
high-volume site with a lot of Perl?  If I'm reading correctly, it is 
only when the return value of bless and overloading interact, but I'm 
thinking it would only take one module in the critical path running 
new() really slowly to bring it to the dev/admin's attention.
