[HRPM] fouled up install

Ok, I have a question already!

I'm trying to run a script that uses DBI.  I get an error: can't locate
DBI.pm in @INC which contains the following paths:

  /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i686-linux
  /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.6.0
  /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0/i686-linux (no files here)
  /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0 (no files here)
  /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl (no files here)

I found DBI.pm in:

  /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux

I also noticed that there are other perl files/directories in:

  /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux
  /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005
  /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl

I think I conigured something incorrectly during one of my installs.
I did them all via perl -MCPAN -e 'install blah'.  I installed 
Bundle::DBI after perl 5.6.0 was installed.

Does anyone know how to fix this?   Should I be using CPAN to do my 
installs?  Maybe I answered a question wrong at some point.  I've never 
installed packages into perl before.
