Forwarding this along as well...

I guess we could say how Jeff is bringing T-Bone steaks for everyone at the
next meeting :-) , that should certainly cause some envy amoung other PM
groups and may boost our membership.

Subject: User group info for yapc and tpc4

Hi there. Some of you know me, but for those of you who don't, I'm
dave [response: "Hi Dave!"]. I'm a founding member and leader of the
New York Perl Mongers, and will also be doing sessions/presentations
on the Perl community at yapc and TPC this year. I also probably lurk
on your group's list. Yes I get way too much email.

Nevertheless, I'd like for any of you that are inclined to let me know
what your groups are doing. Or thinking of doing. Or would like to
do, but aren't sure you can. I figure if I'm going to talk about user
groups, I should probably have *some* idea what I'm talking about. :-)

I don't really have any specific questions at the moment - I'm
basically trying to get something of a real feel for what the perl
community is actually doing in this area, rather than just making
educated guesses.

If any of you *are* interested in answering any specific questions I
wind up having, let me know that too... I'll be glad for whatever
information I have (but don't want to bog anyone down with questions
who doesn't want/have time for them).

If this isn't as coherent as it might be, I apologize. That's what I
get for writing this in the middle of the night... :-/

I'm interested in anything you think is worth mentioning. Really. I
want to make these presentation as good and informative as I can.

Thanks for your help.

Please send information to <dha+tpc at panix.com>.

Thanks again, and again!

best,

dave
