hi all,

well, i will be at yapc::na so thanks to all who supported my gofundme page!

since that is settled, i can email all of you and remind you of yapc 
social things.

add your arrival and departure times on this page so you can share 
rides. there are not many entries so far given that most attendees will 
be flying in

the arrival dinner (which i didn't plan for a change! :) is at the 
oblivion bar. the food menu looks like better bar food. ride sharing 
will be needed so if you have a vehicle and are going to this, list that 
and how many seats you have open.

the alternative (used to be anti!) arrival dinner is vegan tilted and 
usually a smaller group. they (autarch!) haven't picked a place yet but 
there are 2 possibles listed.

i am highly amused by the other alt arrival dinner names. i happen to be 
an emacs user from before it was called emacs (^R mode in teco if that 
rings a bell!). as a side note, i am friends with the actual author of 
teco (from another circle of mine) who worked at dec back then.

and use this mailing list to announce ride shares available and such. 
yes, email is still a valid and useful way to communicate to a large 
group. i don't need to be a twit or plant my face in a book :-)
