Robert answered this yesterday on IRC: 08:10 < rblackwe> 21:29 <@kid51_at_dinner> Anyone know when call for papers for YAPC::NA is going to be issued? 08:10 < rblackwe> soon is my best answer right now Why are you spamming this list about it instead of emailing the organizers directly? And why the big rush? Last year the CFP never went out until February 15. OSCON's has always been much earlier, but that's a much bigger conference with more publicity and suchlike to get out, not to mention people who get paid to work on it. :) Walt From robindarby at mac.com Thu Jan 29 22:40:36 2009 From: robindarby at mac.com (Robin Darby) Date: Thu, 29 Jan 2009 22:40:36 -0800 Subject: [yapc] YAPC::NA::2009 - What's Happ'nin? Because more people get to see the answer, plus it's one question to the organisers rather than several. > And why the big rush? Because some like to plan their time. At the moment, with no website and no announcements, it means I certainly can't book flights and hotels until I know it's definitely happening. Management aren't keen to send me to a conference, just because I say it's happening :) > OSCON's has always been much earlier, but > that's a much bigger conference with more publicity and suchlike to > get out, not to mention people who get paid to work on it. :) And YAPC::Europe has just 2 people (unpaid), who are doing a better job than OSCON IMHO (not that I'm biased or anything) :) Cheers, Barbie. -- Birmingham Perl Mongers Memoirs Of A Roadie From robert at robertblackwell.com Fri Jan 30 09:07:11 2009 From: robert at robertblackwell.com (Robert Blackwell) Date: Fri, 30 Jan 2009 12:07:11 -0500 Subject: [yapc] YAPC::NA::2009 - What's Happ'nin?
