Be warned: the Berghoff closed last year and "reopened" with basically
the bar menu. The restaurant is eesentially closed, as this page
states:

http://www.berghoff.com/Berghoff/home.html

The main remaining decent German restaurant is The Chicago Brauhaus on
the North side (a block from the Western brown line stop), but that's
a haul from downtown.
