I know to where I live (Wicker Park) a cab to O'Hare can cost as much as
$40. IIT is farther away from O'Hare than Wicker Park, so it could climb
to $50 plus tip.

It would be better to take the L. Get the visitor pass as you will
probably be taking the L more than once.

Check the wiki for more info, I think there's a link there for the train
pass.
