We'll be having it in the usual place: The 9th floor conference rooms at 540 W Madison, downtown Chicago. Pizza, soda, and beer will be provided by our gracious hosts. However, we do not yet have a speaker for this month. I'm taking volunteers, or if you would like to learn about something, suggestions for topics. If nobody else volunteers or suggests, I will give a talk on one of a couple possibilities: 1) XS and C++ 2) REST easy with Catalyst and DBIx::Class 3) Inline::Java APIs I'm hoping to get a few months planned ahead so everybody has more time to prepare, so if you can't do March, we have openings in April and May as well. Thanks, Doug Bell madcityzen at gmail.com From pcmantz at gmail.com Thu Mar 8 13:59:57 2012 From: pcmantz at gmail.com (Paul Mantz) Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2012 15:59:57 -0600 Subject: [WindyCity-pm] Meeting March 29 7pm In-Reply-To: References: <2C271EDC-E7E7-47ED-8CA4-C427DDAB9FAF@gmail.com> Message-ID: Perhaps someone should update meetup.com before I pass this to my coworkers then? http://www.meetup.com/Windy-City-Perl-mongers-Meetup/events/52659292/ On Thu, Mar 8, 2012 at 12:45, Doug Bell wrote: > Hello everybody, > > Our next meeting is in three weeks, March 29, at 7pm. Our topic will be XS with C++, presented by me. I'll start with some intro to XS, and go into some helpful techniques for building larger XS projects and memory management with Perl scalars and modern C++ techniques. Getting there: 540 W Madison is two blocks south of the Clinton Green/Pink line stop and right across the street from Oglivie Transportation Center. Simply check-in with the desk on the upper level of the lobby and tell them you're there for Chicago Perl Mongers.
