I'm planning to put together a talk on a Perl topic, but keen to hear from anyone else who might be able to do a talk too. 6:00pm Tuesday 11 April 2017 Level 3, Catalyst House 150 Willis Street Wellington http://wellington.pm.org/ See you there. Looking forward to it. I have made good progress in preparing for my next talk but it unfortunately won't be ready for next week. It will be either (Perl 5) coding conventions or testing practices ... or both at once. But I think I already nailed the title 'Beautiful Perl Code'! On the back of Colton interesting contribution during lightning talks (Colton, please feel free to keep talking at Perl Mongers meetings), I may have motivated my younger colleague to do a talk at Perl Mongers later in the year. It should be good. See you all on Tuesday. The slides for my talk are up on the web site now: http://wellington.pm.org/archive/ I feel a bit bad for the kids who must have been simultaneously bored and horrified by the Perl arcania. Perhaps with a bit more warning and planning we could have a meeting that targeted kids with some fun activities. Next meeting will be on May the 9th. Let me know if you'd like to do a talk or suggest a topic. We don't have a speaker lined up yet and I've been mulling one potential plan ... Would anyone be interested in participating in a CPAN workshop? The idea would be for people to bring along their laptops and work together to attempt to make some contribution to bring down the bug count on CPAN. There are certainly plenty of issues on modules that I nominally maintain, and we should be able to get fixes integrated and uploaded to CPAN on the night. But I can also help people get to grips with the tools and processes to help them get a patch into someone else's modules as well. Any interest?
