Not Perl-related, but I just talked about Xapian's participation in Google's Summer of Code at an event in Cambridge, UK. I'm returning to NZ in a couple of days, and could repeat it at PM if there's interest. Hi Olly Thanks for the offer. We've now got Francois lined up to talk about Libravatar so I think we're sorted for this month. We could fit you in in July if you're still keen :-) Cheers Grant From tim at emergetec.com Sun May 8 13:19:44 2011 From: tim at emergetec.com (Tim Knapp - Emerge Technology) Date: Mon, 09 May 2011 08:19:44 +1200 Subject: [Wellington-pm] [Fwd: [nzpug] Call for Papers, due on Monday!] Message-ID: <1304885984.3055.6.camel@monty> FYI -------- Forwarded Message -------- > From: Brett Wilkins > Reply-to: nzpug at googlegroups.com > To: nzpug at googlegroups.com > Subject: [nzpug] Call for Papers, due on Monday! > Date: Fri, 06 May 2011 10:57:40 +1200 > > Hi All, > > The final paper/talk submission date is this coming Monday, so if you > have an idea for a talk, please submit it! > > We'd really like to see some more advanced talks this year. It's a bit early for me to firmly commit to being available for July (is June full already?) but feel free to pencil me in. Cheers, Olly From grant at mclean.net.nz Tue May 10 16:27:15 2011 From: grant at mclean.net.nz (Grant McLean) Date: Wed, 11 May 2011 11:27:15 +1200 Subject: [Wellington-pm] Roundup of last night's meeting Message-ID: <1305070035.29366.42.camel@putnam> Hi Mongers Thank you to our speakers Matthew and Francois for a couple of entertaining and informative talks. I'll post the presenters' slides on the web site if/when they send them to me, in the meantime you can get Mason 2 from here ... http://search.cpan.org/dist/Mason/ and the libravatar site is here ... http://www.libravatar.org/ The next meeting will be on June the 14th. Rather than our standard meeting format, the June meeting will be a quiz night and Donovan is organising the questions. It will be Open Source / geek trivia / programmer themed rather than Perl-specific so we'll be extending an invite to the wider geek community. Cheers Grant
