Thanks Grant, much appreciated.

I noted the details of that Perl Medic book, and also that perltidy was 
suggested as a useful tool.

Someone suggested a module that would be useful for 
defining/generating/using config files, but I didn't manage to remember 
the name long enough to write it down.
