HI all, I have a script we used to use many moons ago to send out
newsletters back in 200 it seems).  I have a client whose current solution
(SugarCRM is not working for some reason and need a quick fix.  The script
was a good plan until they wanted to attached a PDF - this had not been
completed.

** And just to be clear - this is not SPAM - solicited client messages only,
I did check that ** :)

Now, my Perl was never any good and now many years later I am in need of
some assistance:
a) anyone like to do a very quick but urgent job today and augment the
script to attach files
b) have an out of the box script/tool that they can suggest - they are happy
to pay a little bit for this
c) .. other solution that can be implemented today?

email offlist if you would like or onlist if there are discussion points.

The MIME::Lite module makes it dead easy to send email - with or without
attachments:

  http://search.cpan.org/dist/MIME-Lite/lib/MIME/Lite.pm

There are lots of examples in the documentation but it sounds like your
needs are pretty simple.

Check out Dada Mail - I've used it before and have found it to be a great
tool for managing newsletters:

It's Perl-based, Open Source and they also offer a Pro edition that's a
measly US$50.

Hi all, thanks to everyone who responded on and off the list - superb!!!

As I got the cludge (lets call it the script) working the client informed me
that the SugarCRM app started sending email - mmmm BCAK again - driver error
after all - at least they now have a backup option.

Happy to share what I have it at all of niterest - it works but I sould
suggest VERY inelligant.

Thanks to Andy and Finlay for their talks last night and thanks to
everyone else for turning up and making it a fun evening.

The next meeting will be on May 13th.  I'd be very keen to hear from
anyone volunteering to do a talk at that meeting (hello Martyn).
Suggesting topics is also allowed (although it doesn't appear we have
