I too have conflicting events on Monday these days, so have to choose between PM and the other event each month. The original rationale for Monday (to match with the Wellylug meetings) doesn't seem to work out quite as well as originally planned, as the PM meetings typically run over the start of the Wellylug meetings. Tuesday or Wednesday would suit me better, but I'll probably still be along occasionally if it stays on Monday. Damn you people and your social commitments! :-) I don't have a problem with moving the meeting to another night. Tuesday and perhaps Thursday would be fine, but Wednesday is out for me. Moving it to later in the evening also wouldn't really work for me. The big problem is that two people who have said they can't do Tuesday are both people who have presented talks more than once at previous meetings. If we were casting votes, I'd be giving past presenters at least five votes. Comparing the promise of one talk from Srdjan versus no more from Geoff or Sam does not leave me in a happy place. How many people do we have lurking out there who would like to present at future meetings but can't do Mondays? Does this mean that perl Mongers changing their day could trigger a similar song and dance with the singongtaichi.com group? It suits me to have both PerlMongers and WellyLUG on the same night in the same building. Thursdays don't suite me at all, and Tuesdays... I'd rather keep that night clear for Bell-Ringing. Yeah - I've not presented anything, and so I know - only one vote from me for keeping it on Mondays. :o) The PerlMonger meetings have always been interesting and informative; and I've learnt plenty of stuff from going along and just listening. I currently know next to nothing about Perl, but that will change. :o) Cheers David Murray -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
