Below is a email confirming a presentation on Feb 9th. The room number
at UVic will be posted on the website. Robert is looking for a
volunteer to help with migrating the project to Linux.
Hello John;
Re: Presentation by Robert Porter to 09-Feb-10 VLUG meeting:
Title: Low-cost, Reliable text e-mail: A Journey
Summary:
REMCU (Radio-E-Mail Connections Unlimited) is a communications
development charitable organization whose goal is the
development/deployment of low-cost reliable e-mail in developing
countries. What started as a dream of Nzola Swasisa to harness HF radio
as e-mail medium (see www.remcu.org for background), has evolved with
technology to a dream to use the now-widespread availability of
Cell-phone & Satellite internet coverage to accomplish the same goal
much more reliably and less costly. Linux port-restriction is the key
to cost control.........................................

Best regards,
Robert Porter
