I guess we're > skipping this month's meeting? Yar... with my sudden move to London, I didn't have the opportunity to make any arrangements. Luke really wants to do a hack night soon and I believe Gossamer are wiling to host us for that, so that's an option. Other than that, I'd suggest a social meet for July/August and then I'll try and get something arranged for the September meet. If anyone wants to help arrange a tech meet while i'm away... please feel free. ta! -- -Scott McWhirter- | -Technology Consultant- [ Cloudtone Studios - http://www.cloudtone.ca ] From christie.a.wilson at gmail.com Thu Jun 18 20:46:59 2009 From: christie.a.wilson at gmail.com (Christie Wilson) Date: Thu, 18 Jun 2009 20:46:59 -0700 Subject: [Van-pm] Speakers!!! So even though Scott is out of town for a while, that doesn't mean we can't have fun without him! Please drop me a line if you'd like to throw something together for a talk (lightning or otherwise) on the 9th. I know some of you will be fresh from YAPC so you guys should have plenty of material. Gossamer Threads is being kind enough to host us on July 9th (5th Floor of 455 Granville St). So hope to see you there, or even better, hope to hear from you soon about material you'd like to present. Thanks, - Christie Wilson -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... If there is interest, I volunteer to give the talk i gave at Open Web on approaches to automation. It's not so technical, instead it's more focused on the social aspects and team culture around automation. I could also give a little lightning talk on android development. Been playing with lots of different things of late. Not all exactly perl but most are being used in conjunction with Catalyst in some way or other. Cheers, Luke ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: "Luke Closs" Date: Jun 28, 2009 1:23 PM Subject: Super Happy Hacker House To: "VHS" Hey folks, I'd like to start regular SHHH events, so in the spirit of JFDI, I humbly present to you: https://vancouver.hackspace.ca/doku.php?id=shhh_-_july_4_2009 A few of our core hackers will be down at Toor Camp, but the rest of us can still get together and hack. I hope to organize these events about every 6 weeks, to create a regular time and space for our community to collaborate and build cool things. Please let me know any thoughts you have. Also, if someone could bring a projector for the lightning talks, that would be super duper awesome. Come learn and share!
