[tpm] JBoss information sought

Can anybody point me at a good source of conceptual information about JBoss?

I'm especially interested in error-handling, both from the applications it
runs, and JBoss itself. I'm writing scripts that move around data on which
Java applications can chew. I would like mechanisms to detect when things
die unexpectedly, preferably more sophisticated (and earlier) than
stumbling over the corpse the next day.
