This would probably fall together fairly easily into a getting started  
with mod_perl kind of talk, which i've seen gozer give a bunch of  
times at YAPC and ApacheCon.  He's got his slides online here:

gozer = Philippe Chaisson who is one of the core mod_perl development guys.

I could probably go through gozers slides if people wanted to do that.
