This month Aran (me) will be presenting an hour-long talk (30 minutes is too short of time to do this topic justice): *Tools of the CPAN Ninja* By popular demand at May's Perl Mongers Aran will be presenting the steps that it takes to publish a module on CPAN. He'll be covering the various tools provided to CPAN authors including CPAN testers, Forums, Ratings, PAUSE, the Back Pan, mailing lists, RT, etc. He'll also be going over what a distribution is, how to author one, the pros and cons of the various installation tools (Module::Build, MakeMaker, Dist::Zilla, etc), and how to get a distribution released on CPAN. This hour-long talk will provide all the tools a budding author needs to get their first module on to CPAN. More details can be found here, including the location of the ValueClick office: http://www.thousand-oaks-perl.org/calendar/13515398/ See you on Wednesday! This is understandable - he's a busy guy (after all, he invented DBI). He's looking for someone to take on ownership of it and keep it bug-free in the years to come. Any of you interested? This is a great way to get your CPAN chops. And looks great on your resume. Aran -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It can be about anything Perl 6 oriented, and if you're new to Perl 6 you might be just the person to do this talk since most of the rest of us are as well. You'll only get 30 minutes, and we're a group that likes to give a whole lot of feedback so the time will fly. Let me know if you want to do this. I can give you some pointers to get you started if you like. Thanks! Aran -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
