If you're registered for the workshop then when you're looking at a talk
page (e.g. http://act.yapc.eu/lpw2013/talk/4960 - not that I'm biased!)
you'll see a star with the text "add to personal schedule" next to it.
Clicking on that star registers your interest in the talk. This allows
the organisers to judge the relative popularity of talks and, hence, to
allocate rooms.
We've never had a problem where a class is oversubscribed. I guess we'll
work out what our policy is for that if and when it happens.
So, just register for the conference and click on the stars on the pages
for the talks you want to see.
