I'll wait to have confirmation from some other folks so we get a nice mix of topics, and get back to you in a couple of days, if that's OK. No problem about not being able to come for a drink. Hey, if Perl is your profession we might have a recruiter speaking about the Perl job market ;-) (he's a nice chap, not one of those shiny suit recruiters) I'll be in touch soon, regards, oliver. > > * App::Midgen > > * it's a toolchain aid > > * A bit left field, blogging and Perl > > * Blogging about Perl > * communal blogs via personal (octopress & GitHub etc ) > > * CPAN Reports > > * CPAN Reporter > * cpanm-reporter > > Sorry about lack of attendance at the watering hole, but as I am > currently unemployed it is outside of my budget. > > regards > kevin > > > > Links: > ------ > [1] http://www.eligo.co.uk/ > [2] mailto:Thamesvalley-pm at pm.org > [3] http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/thamesvalley-pm From oliver at cpan.org Sun Jun 2 15:36:55 2013 From: oliver at cpan.org (Oliver Gorwits) Date: Sun, 02 Jun 2013 23:36:55 +0100 Subject: [Thamesvalley-pm] Thanks for coming! Sounds good! Many thanks for the offer. I hope I'm like a lot of people that have never really got to grips with the Perl debugger, and it's high time that I did :) > I plan to bring my own laptop so that I can do some demos, and show > slides. How long (in time) should the talk be? If you want to start planning, I think aim for 20-25 mins if that's OK? Last time we seemed to have some talks of about this length, with a break, and it wasn't too late for some social time afterwards. Some people like a good in-depth tech talk, and others like to hear about lots of new shiny things they can go and play with afterwards. So we can fit in lightning (under 5min) talks as well, if anyone on the list wants to offer something up. As I said to Kevin, I'll report back to the list in a few days, regards, oliver. > -- > David Pottage > > > On 26/05/13 17:12, Oliver Gorwits wrote: >> Hi folks, >> >> Echoing Rick's comments, many thanks to all who came on Wednesday, I >> had a good time and I hope you did too :-) >> >> Special thanks to Rick and Sarah from http://www.eligo.co.uk/ for >> dropping by and generously supporting the evening's drinks. >> >> We've now had three meetings, so according to our "every three >> months or so" rule we ought to have another technical talks session.
