I showed up at the Tap Room tonight, and ended up chatting with Tim and Curtis. Given it appeared to be only us and no one mailed the list about presentations, we never made it around the corner. Are meetings usually hit or miss, or did I just chance upon a bad month? It'd be great to meet more folks, even if it's just over beer and not a formal session. In the past, the months without official talks meant there was no SPUG meeting, at all. More recently, we've taken to using those as "SPUG social" months. That way, those who are inclined to still get together and talk about Perl and related topics can do so. I don't recall what the official SPUG calendar says, but usually, the process is: show up at Taphouse Grill, look around for familiar faces (kind of hard, if you're new in town or it's been a while), and hang out until it's time to walk down to Marchex for the talk (if there is one). Generally, if you don't see an official talk announced within a few days of the meeting, it means it's gonna be a "social" month. -- It's difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on him not understanding it. - Upton Sinclair From tyler at seraph-net.net Wed Aug 22 15:26:54 2012 From: tyler at seraph-net.net (Tyler Hardison) Date: Wed, 22 Aug 2012 15:26:54 -0700 Subject: SPUG: New Seattle resident seeks like-minded individuals to discuss Perl In-Reply-To: References: <5034609A.20802@cpan.org> <-3083908314078718235@unknownmsgid> <5034F9BE.8060404@cpan.org> Message-ID: On Wed, Aug 22, 2012 at 9:33 AM, Noah R?mer wrote: > Sounds interesting.
