Thank you all, with the code samples from Johnathon Mark and these modules
from Damian, I think I'm finally starting to comprehend how sub attributes
can be useful :)

Ryan,

May I suggest that you look at the Attribute::Handlers and
Attribute::Handlers::Prospective modules. 

Many people have found that they make using attributes *very* much easier.
