Your ps (or top, or qps*, etc.) with some form of flags should also
incude columns for RSS and SHARE, or maybe a SIZE:

  PID USER     PRI  NI  SIZE  RSS SHARE STAT  LIB %CPU %MEM   TIME COMMAND
25864 jmates    -4  -6  6828 6828  1944 S <     0  0.3  6.1   7:46 Maelstrom

Though the size values are usualy in kilobytes, not bytes...
