SPUG: "Too late for -T option" message?

-T is enabling taint mode, perl's excellent facility for keeping track of
which data is coming into your program from your environment, which is
described as "tainted". Because things can be specified in the command
line, to be completely safe -T must be the first option specified. 

Try 

#!/usr/bin/perl -T -w 

rather than

#!/usr/bin/perl -w -T
