Unfortunately things have gone downhill since then. The most recent
version of PowerPoint saves the HTML in an IE-specific format. So the
slides are still inaccessible to non-Windows users. And the web-site
could be considered broken.

I'll see if there is an option to produce simpler HTML.

In an ideal world there would be a command line tool to convert ppt
to HTML or plain text (something like antiword).
