If you relocate to Amsterdam as a foreign high-skilled migrant
(kennismigrant in Dutch), the company cannot pay you less than ~50 k€
/year if you are above 30 year old, and 37 k€ otherwise (see details
at http://www.everaert.nl/nl/nieuws/13-bedrijven/100-vanaf-1-januari-2012-nieuw-looncriterium-voor-kennismigranten,
this may vary a bit). Note also that the yearly salary in the
Netherlands includes 8% vacation payment, which is paid once a year in
May.

Thus (50 - 8%) / 12 would be your monthly salary before taxation.

There are also high enough taxes which are progressive, and
effectively will take about 1/3 of your income. Also, you may apply
for so called 30% ruling, which means that if you are a high skilled
one, you will not pay taxes from 30% of your income during the first 8
years.

That's simple :-)
