I've been hacking in perl for a while ( since 1996, although my last job was all python, which was interesting). Anyone interested in meeting up someplace to talk/hack on perl? I just visited Sim Lim and was blown away. After seeing that, I figure there has to be some perl hackers in the area that'd like to get together over some food. There's a lot of open source groups here; if you're into Python, you could check out the Python users group [1] as well. > Anyone interested in meeting up someplace to talk/hack on perl? Heh, in Singapore, "food" is the magic word - you'll always find people willing to join in a nice meal. There are a number of Perl geeks around, although this mailing list remains mousy quiet. I think I could get a small group of 3-5 Perl people together (and Singapore.pm is *long* overdue a meetup), but the quickest way to meet the local geeks would be to join the LinuxNUS people for their semiregular hackfest - there ought to be one this weekend [2]. cheers, Gaurav [1] http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=20088734289 [2] http://linuxnus.org/2009/05/07/the-linuxnus-hackfest-returns/ From singapore-pm at haller.ws Thu May 7 20:17:57 2009 From: singapore-pm at haller.ws (Patrick Haller) Date: Fri, 8 May 2009 03:17:57 +0000 Subject: [singapore-pm] Greetings In-Reply-To: <2665a3df0905070251p3481944ew4a7b18c31641213e@mail.gmail.com> References: <20090507085349.GA14347@haller.ws> <2665a3df0905070251p3481944ew4a7b18c31641213e@mail.gmail.com> Message-ID: <20090508031757.GB15846@haller.ws> On Thu, May 07, 2009 at 05:51:27PM +0800, Gaurav Vaidya wrote: > Welcome to Singapore! Thanks again for the links, I've joined the python group, pity that they meet only quarterly. > Heh, in Singapore, "food" is the magic word - you'll always find > people willing to join in a nice meal.
