concatenado variáveis em open

Boa tarde,

Eu tinha isto:

open (our $formas, "<", "formas.txt") || die "Não
posso ler formas.txt: $!";

E tentei transformar nisto:

open (our $formas$select, "<", "formas.txt") || die
"Não posso ler formas.txt: $!";

E recebi um belo e tradicional syntaxe error. Socorro!
