From jay at adei.com Mon Apr 12 13:12:25 1999 From: jay at adei.com (Jay Di Silvestri) Date: Thu Aug 5 00:21:32 2004 Subject: Sonoma.pm Message-ID: <37123789.9BA4A33@adei.com> nblug is having a meeting tomorrow. Since many of the people on this list are nblugers, I'm hoping that we can show up at that meeing and get Sonoma.pm off the ground for real. . . As an inducement, O'reilly has provided some T shirts and books. That we will give away. If you decide to go please rsvp to nblug at www.nblug.org Below is the .info from the nblug page on the meeting. TIA jay@adei.com This month we have something special for you. Since we have lost our meeting space at O'Reilly & Associates (only temporarily hopefully), we thought this would be a nice opportunity to have a social gathering. We have reserved the banquet room at Pizza Gourmet for our next meeting. They have some pretty good pizza, and they also offer pasta dishes and a few other items. We will also be doing a small, but informative presentation on how to get your machine to boot Windows NT, Windows 95 and Linux happily. As a lot of Linux users are coming from the Windows world, they sometimes don't want to give up the false sense of security of their current operating system, or maybe they still need it for work or whatnot. Well, we will show you how to multi-boot your machine - something that may be difficult for the person new to Linux. If you will be coming, please RSVP. This will allow us to let Pizza Gourmet know how many people will be coming. There is room in the banquet room for 40 people. We have the room reserved for 7:30-9:30. I will be there at about 7:15 or so. Show up early if you would like to watch the presentation. There is seating right out of the banquet area, but you won't be able to participate in the presentation very well. Pizza Gourmet is located at 1415 Fulton Road, inside the Raley's Shopping Center. They are at the north end of the complex. Plan on being there no later than 7:30 and bringing your appetites! I'm forwarding this to the group list. Perhaps someone will know. I was surprised to find out that print "\x23", will print that character, but $foo="23"; print "\x${foo}" will not yield the same result. here is the info on joining Sonoma.pm Sonoma.pm (a local Perl Mongers group) is now forming. The group will be a resource for Perl programmers at all experience levels. You can join the mailing list by sending the following command to majordomo@hfb.pm.org: subscribe santa-rosa-pm-list Please post any ideas/suggestions that you have for the group to that list, or if you prefer, send mail to jay@adei.com William Smith wrote: > Hi -- > I got your name from the Perl user group page. > I am in Novato.
